The Box

There’s a tiny box that I am stuffed inside

It’s tight and dark and black as night

There’s no sounds, no words, no feelings

But what’s this! It’s so blinding bright!

Is that a glimmer of light?

Weird sounds suddenly abound

Giddiness inside?

Frantically I cover my eyes, ears, eyes, ears, eyes, ears

Suddenly all are open wide, light not so bright

Sounds not so loud, feelings not so profound

Inside I push and stretch on the tiny black box

Press my mouth to the crack and breath in truth

The air so fresh it burns and stings

But then I need more

More blinding bright light

More sounds

More feelings

If I keep growing out of the dark

I will emerge free from lies

All I will reveal

Naked with verity
